Nine To Five is an artwork inspired by TV programmes from the 80's depicting the office life of women. Growing up watching these programmes was inspirational as it depicted a life for a woman that didn't involve getting married and having kids. The passage of time has shown these programmes to be sexist, but they were of a time, so I choose to remember the inspiration and aspirations they bore. There is the office girl, the moonlight, the big city, the skyscraper lift... even a lift was exotic to a young girl growing up in 70's and 80's Ireland!
